Institution:
University of Wyoming
Subject:
PHYS
Description:
Introduction to plasma physics is exhibited through the analysis of numerous ionized environments (fusionsystems, stellar surfaces, and the ionosphere). Fluid approximations (MHD), as well as a kinetic theory formulation (including the Vlasov equation) of plasma physics will be employed. Damping, instabilities, and nonlinear plasmas will be explored.
