Design, implementation, analysis, and interpretation of ecological models. Includes model development, sensitivity analyses, parameterization, uncertainty, and validation. Emphasizes empirical (data-driven) and mechanistic models that encompass a hierarchy of scales and processes. Primary ecological focus is terrestrial systems, including models that span leaf to ecosystem processes. Prerequisites: one course each in calculus, statistics and ecology.
