Introduces the student to the anatomy of the speech production system as well as the physiological underpinnings of speech including respiration, phonation, and articulation. The kinematics of speech production and the acoustic characteristics of phonation and speech are investigated. Theories of speech production and speech perception are presented. Prerequisites: KIN 2040 and PHYS 1050.
